Though none of the above things are sinful and are permitted (with some producing good fruit)… the first and foremost command of Jesus, known as the “Great Commission,” was: Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
We see it lived out in Mark 16:20, “Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.” And in the entire book of Acts, starting with the street meeting on Pentecost, that led to three thousand people being saved.
As a pastor, like Paul, by God’s grace, my hands will be clean when we face Jesus on Judgement Day. Acts 20:26-27, “26 Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. 27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.”
Charles Spurgeon said, “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”
As a Christian, are you prepared to meet Jesus on Judgement Day and give an account to what you did for His Kingdom with all the freedom, time and resources you were given?
