Notice that according to Paul a child receiving the promise of blessing and a long life is attached to obeying their parents. Some of the wealthiest people I know spoiled their children the least and the poorest spoiled them the most. In other words- the amount of what they had or didn’t have was not the determination of them being “bratty” or “spoiled”—- it was how they were taught respect and discipline.
Ephesians 6:1-3, “1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
