Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
In the Old Testament, God promised His people that although they were going to face many enemies and hardships, He was never going to leave them. As you read the Old Testament, it is clear that God kept His Word. In the New Testament, Jesus gave a similar promise to His disciples in Matthew 28:20; “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” In Hebrews 13:5, the author reiterated Deuteronomy’s promise to all of God’s people. From the front of the Bible to back, in both Covenants, and for every child of God, we are promised that God will never leave us.
Your friends will not always be around, your parents will grow old and pass away, even your children and spouse will fail to always be with you. However, God will never leave you. Never! He will always be with you in each and every situation you face. He will be present at every moment and in every stage of your life. As a matter of fact, when you die and are separated from everyone you have ever known, God will bring you to be with Him forever in His presence.
You will never be alone, forsaken or abandoned by God either in this life or the one to come.
Be strong and courageous during whatever situations you face because your God is with you. Corrie ten Boom wrote, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” Don’t let fear or terror take over your thoughts. Instead, meditate on all His promises. Remember that you are so loved and precious to God that He called you the “apple of His eye” and His “treasured possession” (Deuteronomy 7:6; 32:10).

ACTION
- Acknowledge the presence of God, right now, by praying something like, “God, I know you are with me and I will not be afraid. Your Spirit strengthens, comforts and encourages me.”
- Learn to be more sensitive to God’s presence in your everyday life by directing all your thoughts toward Him.
- Encourage those who are not in a relationship with God, to repent of their sins and be born again so they can be close to God, too.
