2 Timothy 4:3-4, “3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”

Consider the following list…

False Doctrine

  1. Preaching that Christians don’t need to repent of sin.
  2. Preaching that wont mention hell or sin.
  3. Preachers that believe the Bible has errors and is not infallible.
  4. Teaching that says Christians have to follow Jewish laws or “sacred names.”

Ear-Tickling

  1. Preaching that is never about doctrine but only “you can make it” type messages.
  2. Preaching that doesn’t take verses in context but uses the Bible as a fortune cookie.
  3. Cowardly preachers that wont address LGBT issues, abortion or sin in their church.

Myth Based

  1. Man-centered prophetic ministries that literally make up things to appear spiritual when they are really immature.
  2. Preaching that promotes universalism.
  3. Preaching that adds man’s ideas to the Bible to make Jesus more “politically correct,” thus they worship a “mythological Jesus.”
