Someone once asked me, “What does Metro Praise even mean?” It is a play on the word metro from the word “metropolitan” but it is not just referring to the metro/city areas of the earth, but the city of God- New Jerusalem to come (Rev. 21:10). And until this new city comes we are believing that all places- especially the cities of the earth will be an answer to Jesus’ prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!”
The prophet Jeremiah said regarding this heavenly city coming to earth; Jeremiah 33:9, “Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.” Therefore, I cannot wait to see every nation, tribe and tongue from every generation praise God in this city!
Certainly, I believe all kinds of other church names are good too- “New Life,” “Mount Zion,” and names that include the location, “Arlington Church of God,” however, all of them- including, “Metro Praise International” will pass way and all Christians will live in the New Jerusalem, with the saints ole’.
I just thought it was neat to post this verse because even Abraham, Moses and the prophets were looking forward to this city- the same one Christians are preaching about today!
