What if I told you what you believed about salvation matters just as much as what you believe about Jesus? What you believe about Jesus’ work in your life is just as important as what you believe about Jesus’ work on the cross.
If you don’t believe when you believed in Jesus dying on the cross and being raised from the dead you were made a new creation; you miss the entire plan of salvation and have a useless faith according to the Bible.
James 2:17-23, “17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.
2 Corinthians 5:16-21, “16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
- If you are in Christ, how much of you is old?
- If the new creation is here, how much of the old you remains?
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
- Since being reconciled with Jesus, how many of your sins is God counting against you?
20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
- How much of you was sinful before you were saved?
- How much of you is righteous after being saved?
