Ya’ll have no idea how much I love this verse… and all the verses that talk about us as being, “light.” When Jesus said we were the light of the world He was fulfilling the promises made through the prophets like the one in Daniel.

Isaiah 60:1-3 (NIV) 1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
Psalms 37:6 (NIV) “He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.”
Take some time to study this out in the Bible and you’ll see it points to being transformed into the image of Jesus- going from glory to glory!
We are literally, “children of the Light,” Ephesians 5:8, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”
